Ways to ensure you get a good insurance agent:
Find an experienced agent. When I say experience, I mean 10, 20 maybe even life long 30 year agents. You want the best don't you? Also your agent needs to specializes in the area you want to insure They may sell other incidental lines of coverage, but you want a SPECIALIST! It's impossible for an agent to specialize in everything, even though many would have you belive that.
Talk to people you know in the business you want to insure. Referrals can be a good option but there are personal favors, kickbacks and potential other conflicts to deal with.
Other options include the yellow pages, your department of insurance, the Internet, etc..
